Visitors can spot such wildlife as the Burchell’s Zebra, Black Wildebeest, Eland, Blesbok, Springbox and the threatened Oribi. Activies include the Basotho Cultural Village, which is a living museum, where visitors can sample traditional cuisine, learn about the culture and observe historic weapons of the Basotho people, as well as well preserved original paintings. There is an herbal trail where one can learn about the plants used by the African Tradition Healers.
Many hiking trails are available and can take one to five hours to complete. One of the most popular is the two day Rhebok Hiking Trail with a maximum of 18 guests, but reservations must be made well ahead of time. Accommodations vary from first rate hotels, mountain retreats, cottages, huts and camping. It all depends on just how adventurous you want to be. You can explore caves, swim in a clear mountain pool, horse back ride or take a guided tour, the choice is yours.
