There’s a lot of misconception about the English summer. In fact, it’s often the punch line in jokes about bad holidays, or clever puns about wet weather and dry throats. But there’s something that people forget to mention: it gets hot in Britain, especially in the South of England. And looking at popular holiday destinations in Britain, there are few places that jump as much into view as Dorset.

Dorset hotel rooms are often fully booked for summer holidays or any long weekend close or during the summer months. And this isn’t due to any booking mistake. The British know the good times that you can spend at Dorset, a secret that’s starting to come out just now. The tourist authorities in Dorset and a little across the entire South of England have been working overtime in promoting their cities, towns and villages as worthwhile tourist destinations. It’s almost amazing that they need to make such a big effort, because any English town sounds like the perfect holiday destination, at least for young people. The British are an amazing people when  it comes to having fun, and that’s something that needs to be developed. But while it doesn’t, we get to enjoy it with a little more peace and quiet.
