So it’s your first time to leave the country and start exploring the outside world? Well it certainly is a very exciting time – all the planning and preparations for your travel escapade. So how do you think you are faring so far? Considering that it is your first time to travel and even if you may or may not have a companion with you for your trip, there is still no excuse for being arrogant of the things that you should do to ensure safe travel. So just to help you out, here are some travel safety tips that every traveler should know and adhere to:
- Always be aware of travel scams. Make yourself well-informed with regard to this by reading up on the latest travel news and info through the various travel sites and online travel forums that you can find through the Internet. This way you will know what to do once you are faced in such a situation and you will not get scammed because you’re a naïve tourist who should’ve known better.
- Always have a map with you and make sure that you know your way back to your hotel if you are planning to go around the city. Ask the hotel concierge if you can rent a personal safe or if there’s already a personal safe in your room then it’s better to stash your important documents and other valuables there while are out exploring. It’s also not wise for you to go around the city carrying so many important things in your bag because that can be very dangerous. Just bring some extra cash, a credit card, an ID, a cellphone and your map and you’re good to go.
