Each year around the same time, individuals, couples and families will begin to think about what this year’s vacation plans will involve. Will they repeat what they did last year because everyone enjoyed it so much or will they take that fork in the road and do something different? Each person will make their own decision and that decision can take them anywhere in the world.
Those who love anything that has to do with water and water sports will certainly book their vacation arrangements to include an ocean, sea or lake. Scuba divers will travel far and wide to experience a new dive site and they too have the whole planet to choose from. Some dive sites are more popular than others but if a certain marine invertebrate, such as the octopus is on your list, coral reefs will be your destination.
It is unfortunate the giant Pacific octopus is on the endangered list but aquarium Octopus Loans can help. Anyone wanting to view this amazing and intelligent creature of the sea can often find them on display in aquariums around the world. All endangered species of the world need our help so future generations will be able to enjoy them too.
In County Sligo Ireland there is a massive natural rock formation known as Benbulbin. This mountain of rock is believed to date back to the Ice Age. As the ice melted this towering rocky hillside of shale and limestone emerged . Benbulbin towers 1,726 feet (526m) above the village of Drumcliffe.
As one attempts to reach the top, there is a walking trail which at some points climbers are literally surrounded by rocks. Benbulbin is home to very rare plants such as arctic-alpine..
Of course such a breathtaking natural site as Benbulbin would not be complete without being the spawning place for much Celtic folklore and believed to be a mecca for ancient worshipers. During World War II it is reported that an American plane crashed into it resulting in plane relics still believed to be located there.
Guest accommodations in this area are few which affords a uniquely private experience. Benbulbin Farm, a B&B(bed and breakfast) boasts a rustic stone cottage surrounded by beautiful landscape on a real Irish farm with stunning views of the mountain
Benbulbin Pottery opened in 1966 in the Rathcormic Craft Village. This attraction features useable earthenware and unique ceramics. Pottery making demonstrations and a showroom are available for tourists.
Another location in County Sligo is the village of Drumcliffe which is now the final resting place of William Butler Yeats who cited this village in several of his poems. Drumcliffe is located on the seashore with Benbulbin towering in the background. In 1948 the remains of Yeats were reburied in the St. Columba Church graveyard. Of the 40 houses originally located in the town, today only Lissadell House(circa 1840) remains. This home from the Greek-Revival period of architecture was cited in one of Yeat’s poems.
Drumcliffe is home to a round stone 14′ (4 meter) tower dating back to the 10th century. There is also a 9th century Celtic Cross on the grounds of a former monastery (circa 575) which has Biblical carvings from both the Old and New Testament on it. Another attraction is Pigeon Holes located on Drumcliffe Bay where the sea flows very rapidly through 2 large holes in the rocks. Tim at www.allpro.com

In the Volksgarten, with a stunning view of the National Library, there is a large open park where dogs are welcome to run free off leash. You will find that almost every park allows dogs, as long as they are on a leash and you pick up after them.
You will also find that flights to Vienna are welcoming to dogs as well. Vienna airport hosts budget airlines as well as big name airliners that often have a dog-in-cabin option, depending on your dog’s weight. As for public transportation, you can get around easily with a muzzle and a leash in the trams.
